Hello! My first time on Indie Hackers. I am hardware πŸ›  indie maker, currently working on a new water bottle concept. I am still iterating the design. February is ending and March is on! I would advise to attract users eyes to the video just immediately after he opens the site because after quick look it looks like as the regular background. I noticed that it is alive from the second glance. And that was enough to get me interested in your product. Both simple and genius idea at the same time. Keep going!

    Cool looking product!

An effective way to write your home page copy is like this:

    1. Product benefit. ( Main headline ) - Tell what your product does for me
    2. Product description. ( Sub heading ) Tell me what your product is.
    3. Your call to action.

You need a little more detail about your product.

For example, a 'How it works' section.

    Hope this helps.

PS: I'm writing a book on how to create great landing pages.

Thanks for the tips Craig! I would love to check out your book when launched. I am planning to improve my pre-launch landing page this weekend. I will definitely read your first chapter as a guide. πŸ‘

Your mobile site doesn’t show anything except a picture of your back and a geometric whale illustration.

Thanks for spotting this! πŸ™ I will look into it now. The issue might be the video autoplay on iOS browser.

The video didn't play for me in the beginning. So I was just looking at the image of a water bottle and wondering what the value prop is. I guess my bad network is to blame but perhaps something to think about. (what's the fall-back in case video doesn't load for your visitors)

Thanks for the testing and feedback! I am looking into it now. Sorry you had to stare at my back and bottle when the video was stuck πŸ˜…. The video file is 19mb now. I am thinking of making animated gif or a photo collage explanation.

Also, why can't this be a clip-on to bring-your-own-bottle instead of buy-a-new-bottle? I am sure you would have thought about this. Just asking for my understanding.

when i was generating concepts, clip-on version was one of them. I decided to go with a bottle for two reasons. One is that i noticed a lot of people own multiple water bottles. 2nd is that i was testing the smart bottle concept at that time and i had this idea of detecting the bottle opening and closing with a simple push button under the bottle cap instead of accelerometer for the reward system. But i used that smart prototype myself for a few days and found the rewards not effective. So, i ended up with current simple bottle version. I would love to make the clip-on version in the future.
