Hello everybody!
I just published an article on my blog how to generate personal ideas for your side projects.
It's basically a mix of general tips and concrete methods I use myself to have more good personal ideas.
I thought it could be useful for somebody.
The goals:
- Understanding what's an idea is and what means "having a good idea"
- Concrete tips how to have more ideas
- Creating a system to retain your ideas
Any creator can find tips in there, it's not only for developers.

Great article! Coming up with ideas is always where I stumble. Creating space for the ideas is something I don't do. I try to force the ideas which never works.
Mind maps is something I never used and will start. Looks like it can be a fun journey.

It will sound weird but: don't take my process as something which will work for sure. It's my process adapted to my personality. I love mind mapping but I know some people who hate it.
I would encourage you to try different way and see if it works for you.
Now if your ideas "never work" it's maybe because you don't have an audience, people who would benefit from your idea. You need that, much more than anything else, and even before building anything.
