Going to try switching the forum so the sidebar is on the right instead of the left, and have it include hashtags and other things instead of just meetups. Stay tuned… #daily-update
Nice, hashtags is a great idea. Didn't find the meetups sidebar too useful (better to have them from the top nav). Perhaps follow suggestions would also be something valuable to add?
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll test that out as well. The main challenge is there's lots of stuff I want to show people who visit the homepage, so the sidebar is likely to become jam-packed. For example:
Ideally I'll be able to fit some of this into the main column as well, interspersed with the threads.
Ah that makes sense, I guess you could probably to some A/B testing on Google Optimize and measure which ones get the most interaction? (Challenge there is the decision doesn't allow for enough education of features)
Perhaps even taking the twitter home page layout as inspiration could work. Left and right sidebar with feed in the middle.
Interested to see how it will develop, really loving IH so far!
