I want to sell app starter templates.
by
Marcus Stenbeck
I want to sell app starter templates. What’s a good way to deliver it? Private github repo?
My favorite would probably be a working app. Either a website or a phone app that has been published and is running and then I can just jump in and start changing. And probably put on a private github repo that is then transfered to me. Then maybe with the possibility to grab a merge from your main git back into mine later.
Interesting idea about the app being already published. My initial thought was that you set up your own github repo with the purchased code, but having that little work done for you might be an interesting upsell.
The git repo access is so I could make updates and fix any bugs that might show up.
Thanks for your 2c! :)
Yeah, I'm just thinking if you are buying convenience from a starter app, why not make it as convenient as possible.
Good reflection indeed. Thanks!
Just zip the code, if you don't need to maintain/update it.
Otherwise think about Gitlab, since Github private repos have limited number of contributors that can access the code, if I'm not mistaken.
I'd agree with @r4id4.
Are you talking CSS libraries + HTML? A full web framework like a ruby on rails app? iOS/Android apps?
I’m thinking a full working skeleton app, that’s possible to start extending.
Ah, good note on the limitations of github. Thanks!
I would like to make updates easily accessible for anyone whose bought it. On the other hand that could also be delivered in some other way...
