Can you all help with an #idea-validation?

Can you all help with an #idea-validation?

There are three big problems with the current experience of connecting designers with businesses that will pay for their work.

Businesses have no way to vet designer's opinions of their business, design, or marketing before they start trying to engage. This makes recruitment risky and costly. If you decide to use a recruiter, it's extremely expensive. Too expensive for small startups.

Designers want to get paid for their expertise and time. They don't want to commit to designing real work without doing the research necessary. Their written design opinions are valuable and require less investment. They want to make a small amount of consistent money every month, with the opportunity for more if the business likes their feedback.

Solution: a two-sided market that matches businesses and five designers (Thumbtack for connecting designers and businesses). Businesses pay $100 to get 5 vetted designers to review any visuals they have: designs, sketches, wireframes, flow diagrams, etc. Designers each get paid $10 per review. Designers can tell businesses they're available for hire. They connect through the marketplace, but the marketplace doesn't charge an extra commission or try to manage billing or anything.

It's qualified leads for the business and qualified leads for the designer.

Thoughts? Particularly from the business side. Is this something you'd pay for? Would you consider the 5 reviews from designers valuable even if you don't end up hiring any?

Thanks!
