Checked it out! I'd like to give it a run for a few days before making the final judgement call if it makes my Chrome X Top 10, but here are my initial thoughts:
Not a fan of the serif font given the tiny real estate. And would love an option for more white space.
It would be lovely if there was any easy way to save a tab to a specific workspace... (smiling) just in case one's current tabs are muddied or haven't a cohesive theme!
Love how the interface is all in one. And this is great way to see all the tabs one has open!
Awesome work! And congrats on launching!
Thanks for the feedback!
That is interesting that you are seeing a serif font. I am using Roboto, but I guess that is not necessarily installed for everyone. Would you be willing to send me a screen grab of what it looks like for you?
I'm rethinking about how to possibly add to an existing workspace, but haven't been able to come up with a design that would stick with the simplicity goal. But you are not the first to ask for that.
Thanks for the encouragement!
Remind me to send a screenshot over the weekend!
I figured out the issue. Turns out that Roboto is not installed on machines. I thought that it was pre-installed in Chrome.
Should be fixed in the next update. Thanks for catching that!

Damn, that Slack app was a quick turnaround!
Haha, yeah it's a very simple app π Thanks again for the suggestion! Hopefully I can get it approved and on the app directory soon
How are you going about getting beta users?
Thinking of running some LinkedIn ads. Also cold emailing potential customers, see if I can get some sign ups
I signed up to your service. Seems very useful and easy to use.
Thank you! Let me know if you have any questions, any feedback, or some functionality that you would like to see!
Interesting. I've never considered using LinkedIn Ads. But it seems to makes sense for your offering.
Looking good!
Thank you!

LAUNCH Scheduled Memo!
WEEKEND
TODAY
KUDOS: I want to send a thanks to the whole of IH for this past week. I set out on a simple idea to build and launch a little bot in 1 week's time and just coming back every day for check-ins and discussion has helped me stay focused and enthusiastic. This little tool is nearing completion, but as it has developed I can now see it as a potentially important funnel for my other projects. My goal with this is to maintain it for the most part as a free service for all users so they can reclaim some of their own time. But it's focal action is to send users an email by request, so it's a natural communication channel with inherent value to my other projects...I can leverage that.
WORK IN PROGRESS: Scheduled Memo
Hi, I'm Sam! This is my first post after signing up to IH yesterday. I checked back today and was excited to find I had a follower! Only to remember I'd followed myself yesterday π Anywaaaay...

Well if you donβt follow yourself, how can you expect anyone else to? ;)
Now if only I could figure out how to upvote myself π
Hi Sam! What sort of courses are you looking to offer?
Hey Jim! I have a history in software development so a coding related course to start with.
I've been thinking about doing courses on things I take for granted, like creating and hosting a static website.
Ever signed up for an online course? If so, what was it about?
I've taken a machine learning class on Coursera at one point.
I have a friend who has some experience recording lessons. Let me see if I can get some feedback from him.
Thanks, that's very kind of you to do!
Ok, so he had submitted content to Lynda.com (now owned by LinkedIn) with a sample and they got back to him and helped him produce a series. They actually flew him out west to record!
You can submit a sample here. Even if you're not aiming for a platform like this it might be a place to get some feedback.
If you can produce and host your content yourself though you might be able to cut out the middleman. Marketing is tricky.
π I'd not come across Lynda.com. I'll add it to the list of platforms to consider.
I don't want to be solely responsible for the marketing, at least for the first course. I like the idea of a platform that helps with marketing.
That's a great song!
You are reminding me that learning to better play the piano was one of my goals too. Hmmm..
It's my favourite! I find myself whistling it all the time.
Sounds like you need a song to learn to get you motivated :)

Today: back onto the generator, create an extension for Behat for testing GraphQL endpoints
Kudos: @samlevy for your first post here. Mine was just a few days ago and I'm pretty glad I did.
Thanks for the Kudos!
And nice product site! It's loading fast for me, visiting it from the UK.
It might be that it's still under development, but the sign up button under the pricing doesn't lead to anywhere.
Are you going to hook it up to a mailing list opt-in form or go straight for beta account signups?
What is supposed to happen is when you click on the purchase button, the bot is supposed to take over and get an email address, either by offering to be a beta tester or if you just have a question. Not sure what might have gone wrong. I'll look into it. Thanks.

I'm sure you've heard this before, but that is a beautiful landing page. May I ask who did the cover image illustration?
Hey Sam, thanks that means a lot! Well this might sound weird, but I made it. I work on server side and infrastructure, but I like art a lot as well.
Nice! That's a great combination of skills. I'd love to be able to illustrate but never find the time to learn.
Do you do commissions or contracting for illustrations?
Thanks :) well, anybody can learn, really it's just about doing it - there is no talent involved.
I just draw for myself sometimes, art doesn't really pay well - you probably heard the expression "starving artist".
EPIC (For February) Gather feedback from my colleagues using the MVP, get the MVP in front of more people, and do some research/brainstorming to determine whether this is a product worth pursuing.

*Shared the DepChecker MVP in a Slack channel, got some feedback. Nothing surprising (I should make a CLI, incorporate security vulnerabilities, etc.) but trying to stay lean and build for my colleague's specific use case. There are plenty of awesome products and OS stuff that do way more than DepChecker, so staying focused on potential unique value prop, vs. doing what everyone else already does extremely well.
KUDOS to @joaosilva22 for cranking out that Slack App

Thank you, kind sir! Always feels good to knock out an epic!
So what's next in the grand scheme for Vimalin?
Yes it does.
One EPIC goes and the next one comes.
It would be good for Vimalin to sell a few licenses of the Windows variant. That would certainly help with motivation. :)
Currently I'm in the process of bringing the macOS version up to the same level. The first step there is to look over all code changes I made since November. This is so that I'm sure that I did not break anything on the macOS side. Halfway done with that.
