When I started working on Linxalium, the simplest value was easy to explain:
Submit your project, get listed, and get a backlink.
That is useful. I still think it matters, especially for small SaaS projects, indie tools, and side projects that are trying to get their first mentions online.
But the more I think about it, the more I feel that a backlink alone is not a strong enough reason for people to care.
Most makers already understand backlinks.
The harder question is different:
Will anyone actually discover your product after you submit it?
That is the part I want Linxalium to focus on.
I do not want it to become another directory where founders submit once, take the link, and never return. There are too many directories like that already. Some of them are useful, but many feel like frozen launch pages.
My goal is to make Linxalium feel more like an early traction layer for small products.
Not a huge promise. Not “we will bring you thousands of users.” Just one more serious place where your product can be found, explained, indexed, and shared.
For that to work, the listing needs to do more than show a name and logo.
A good project page should explain the product clearly.
Categories should help real discovery, not just exist for SEO.
Founders should be able to publish updates or short posts.
The directory should attract people who are actually looking for tools, not just other founders dropping links.
I am still early, so I do not want to overclaim.
Right now, the backlink is the easiest thing to explain. But I think the better long-term value is movement.
Can a listing create qualified clicks?
Can it help a product look more alive?
Can it give a founder another page to share?
Can it make small projects easier to discover outside the usual launch platforms?
That is the direction I want to take Linxalium.
Less “submit and forget.”
More “give your product one more place to be discovered, explained, and shared.”
Curious how other founders think about this.
When you submit your project to a directory, what do you actually expect from it?
A backlink, traffic, credibility, feedback, or just another small signal that your product exists?
