A global community for solopreneur developers, ideašŸ’”

I hope i'm in the right place talking to the right people.

What is it.
I want to focus on developers who have created products such as ebooks, videos, software, or offer consulting services. I'm one of those.

šŸ˜– Pain Points
The idea started from examples like the following:

A client wants to hire an expert developer and specialist in ā€œRuby on Rails Securityā€ Let us call them "Rails Security Expert". Where does client search for oneā€ LinkedIn, Reddit, Rails forum, Telegram, Twitter(profiles down’t reflect what people do), Github, Upwork, fiver or ask around. Unless clients know where to find one it is hard to find one. And after that it is hard to filter which one is good and expert.

Also, for example, If I want to learn about NEXT js and I want a good course or book from respectable and trusted developer with a solid years of experience, where would I go, Gumroad, Udemy, Skillshare, Linked education, different NEXTjs group, Twitter, GitHub code marketplace, or just search and hope for the best.

If you are a client or a developer you know it is a mess, time consuming, no guarantee to find the top "Expert Solopreneur Developers". It is hard for clients to find solo developers who offer good service on focused niche (Rails security, Rails UI). Also it is not an easy thing to find a fantastic learning materials such as books, in-house seminars, videos, course…etc from expert "Expert Solopreneur Developers".

It is baffling. Client can’t find Expert Developer and an Expert Developer struggle to find clients or sell their services and products.

In the mean time, ā€œmostā€ developers aren’t skilled in marketing, writing, promoting, or networking, they are not good at it. They are good at code, code and more code šŸ˜€

āœ…Solution
A single space for developers to list and sell their services and products.

Instead of a job board like Upwork, where clients look for temporary fixes, this would allow clients to find experts in specific programming languages or fields, very focused niche, with proven services and products. A solopreneur developer.

A central place for prospects to find and choose whom to work with.

šŸŽÆ Validation
Instead of jumping straight into development (as many developers have done it -myself included-, waste time and money), I plan to collect data first. I create an Airtable to gather information from developers and prospects, allowing developers to share their services and products.

I already have developers who are interested in the idea.

āš’ļø Next Steps
Once I have enough data and support (including potential payment), I’ll proceed on building a platform.

Now
I’ve a list with several data points related to Expert Solopreneur Developers' businesses and work to share with interested clients.

🚫 It is not for developers who are looking for a gig. Developers will be handpicked to make sure I have Serious and Expert Solopreneur Developers.

I'd love to hear your honest opinion. If this will benefit you and your business, i would love to know hoe to help.
