A list of poorly executed but popular apps (room to grow)

Hi everybody!

Below I will list a few apps (from the play store) that have at least 100k+ downloads each but have bad reviews (lower than 3.2).

I collected these apps because I wanted to start a new project, but I didn't have any new innovative idea and I also didn't want to spend too much time validating it and checking if there's demand.
So I approached it like this: find a popular app (with bad reviews) and make it better.

1. StayFriends
   This app is aiming to help you search and find your old schoolmates/classmates. The common problem people have that it is buggy, not intuitive.
   Rating: 3.016
   Downloads: 100,000+

2. GIFs as a Wallpaper
   Want to have a fun/nice GIF as your wallpaper? This app tries to help you with that, but people complain that it's too buggy and forces you to pay after only 1 wallpaper.
   Rating: 3.18634
   Downloads: 100,000+

3. MyRoomPainter
   This app lets you try out/help visualising a paint colour in your home. Take a picture of your room and paint the walls in the app.
   However, people complain about bugs and has other flaws.
   I'm not sure I could take on this project since I'm not experienced with these kinds of things, but it looks interesting.

   Downloads: 100,000+

4. Selfie with Celebrity, Luxury Cars, Photo Editor
   Ok this one is funny. It lets you edit pictures so that they appear like you are with a celebrity. Although this app is downloaded many times, users left bad reviews. As always, the common problems: bugs, and also MANY ads. I would use a freemium model, limiting maybe the number of pictures (like - 5) you can take, OR limiting the celebrities. Once you pay, you can pose with the biggest stars.

I just want to point out: not all of the 5,000 apps of that list is useful.
Some of them are just too hard for 1 person, or doesn't that interesting or just not worth the time.
I found this list valuable for me, although I had to search through it for some time.
