A little project to take advantage of the crypto hype happening at the moment

Hey IH

During the crypto rally leading up to Jan 2018 I built https://www.topofthecoins.com.

My intention was to learn about crypto and get an idea of how this shiny new tech worked.

I fired up a new Laravel project and also invested £400 in #XRP and #XLM

At the time the site brought in $31.50 (0.02793) of #Ethereum (around 10 sales), which is now worth £66.93.

The £400 of #XRP and #XML (which I bought pretty much at the peak) is now worth £369 (still HODLing!).

I pretty much broke even, plus learned some valuable new skills.

With the recent crypto hypetrain building back up, I thought it’d be good to do a relaunch. Plus, I've been wanting to learn a few things for a while like:

  • TailwindCSS.com - front end dev framework
  • Coinbase’s new Commerce APIs called Coinbase Commerce
  • Use everything new in Laravel and also use Laravel Forge (server management and continuous deployments etc).

So on the weekend, I rebuilt the site with some new features & a shiny new design.

The new TopOfTheCoins.com let’s you post a message using 6 different cryptocurrencies thanks to Coinbase Commerce:

Bitcoin, Ethereum, BitcoinCash, Litecoin, Dai and USDC.

There's now also a top message spot for each of those currencies, instead of just one top spot (that's still there!)

I really think that there’s a chance that the site can go viral and become the “Million dollar homepage” of the crypto era.

I’d love to know what you all think: https://www.topofthecoins.com

Keen to understand what clever tactics the IH community would use to grow this quickly and profitably.

Cheers!

you need to say in huge letters that this goes out over twitter and everyone should follow the account - way up on the page - lead with it. make it more clear as to when the message goes out and when it resets - show the messages in tweet format not boring web boxes. tell people how many followers the account has if its a strong number then hump to get it bigger - people will pay more if they think there is a big audience.
