A new personal finance app

I am developing MoneyKeep. It started as a side project, but now I am trying to make this my primary source of income after a layoff.

I am new to product development, and I am struggling to market the app and know what steps to take next. I know how to develop things, not everything else that comes along to actually make a product work.

Either way, I am committed to making "my own thing" work, even if I eventually have to pivot into other ideas.

MoneyKeep started as a spreadsheet and it now has grown into an app of its own. There are many things planned to make it a better product: bank transaction sync, better classification, better projections, etc

But if I kept the app hidden, I might end up with a bunch of features that no one uses. So here I am, talking about the app everywhere, trying to find a handful of users to validate and improve the product.

    Hello Mark,

It is possible to test your assumptions and validate ideas by conducting problem and solution interviews with your potential users. If you haven't selected the niche, try talking with your friends, as far as your product is B2C with a wide market.

The topics can be various - what bothers them the most when they calculate their finance, what they lack in the existing solutions, etc. That will help you prioritise the features you wish to introduce and focus on the core, unique to your market.

Hope that will help you a bit with finding product market fit.

I did talk to some friends, but I did not have a standardized question list.
Thank you for the feedback Roman

Hey Marc, I'm working on an idea for a marketplace that helps products like MoneyKeep get in front of a ton of customers at a discount (potentially beta testers too)

Idk what your monetization model is, but would you be willing to provide it at a discount for 10% off for 7 days? (specifics are flexible) :)

The app has a subscription model at 5$ a month, but there is a 60 day trial no credit card needed. Would this fit your marketplace?
