I often struggle to keep up with the fields I’m interested in. Sometimes I spend an hour or more jumping between tech news sites, X, and LinkedIn, only to feel like I’ve gained nothing.
That got me wondering: what if I could build a news tracker that gathers news from across the internet and just works for me?
So I built this, a personal news agent that follows your instructions. You just type in what you want to follow, like “recent crypto big things”, and the app will use AI to pull updates every few hours. It only fetches what you tell it to.
We launched on the App Store two days ago and just hit 300 downloads. A huge thanks to IH community! We've seen some use cases we expected and some we didn’t at all during our launch:
Tracking the latest research papers in very niche domains
Creating 30+ topics, some about industries, others about sports teams, specific types of movies, and more (the number surprised me)
Adult content (please don’t try it, we don’t support that at all right now lol)
If you have any interesting ideas for how you’d use the app, please let me know. It would be fun to brainstorm and build together!
This is brilliant! I’ve spent countless hours juggling multiple sources and often feel like I’ve gone in circles. I love that your AI lets users define exactly what to track this is the kind of precision tools freelancers like me crave to stay ahead in niche markets. Curious have you thought about letting users track trends in freelance work or emerging tech skills? That would be a game-changer.
Congrats on the early traction, 300 downloads in under 2 days is a great sign. I really like the idea of making news tracking intentional instead of just doomscrolling random feeds. I can see myself using it for things like AI research papers or niche startup funding rounds that never make it to mainstream news. Curious—do you plan on adding ways to summarize or prioritize within a topic when there’s a flood of updates? That could make it even more powerful.
hey love this idea! that's gonna help people a lot. let us explore this idea!
This is awesome, well done ,I totally relate to the problem of spending hours across news sites and not retaining much . How do you plan to keep users engaged long-term like ensuring they don't just try it once and drop off?
hey that's a good question! I think for us, we still need to enhance our basic functions. like enhancing AI accuracy & smooth UI. good quality will drive user back. then we will introduce notifications so that users can be notified when there are news might be important to them.
Huge congrats on the successful launch and hitting 300 downloads in just 48 hours that’s an impressive early sign of product-market fit 🎉👏.
What really stands out to me is how intentional the solution is — instead of building another generic news feed, you’ve narrowed it down to ‘only the topics the user actually cares about,’ which is such a smart angle.
Also love that the use cases are already expanding beyond what you initially had in mind that’s usually a great sign that there’s a real demand for the core engine you’ve built.
Out of curiosity any plans to allow users to export their curated tracking feeds later on (e.g. email digest or embed)? That could open up even more opportunities.
Keep pushing rooting for your next milestone 🚀
thanks!! yes we have something similar in mind. in the future we would allow users to share their feeds out of the app with their friends or for their own use.
That sounds like a solid idea giving users the ability to share their feeds can really boost engagement and organic growth. 🚀 Curious, are you thinking of building it as a native feature right away or testing it with a simple MVP first?
