A pattern I keep seeing in eCommerce systems

One thing I keep noticing in ecommerce systems:

Inventory rarely “breaks”.
It slowly drifts.

One channel updates first.
Another lags behind.
Someone fixes numbers in a spreadsheet.

Everything still works.
Orders still go through.
Until refunds, cancellations, and support load quietly pile up.

At some point inventory management isn’t about CRUD anymore.
It’s about detecting divergence early.

Curious if others here ran into similar “silent failure” problems
in multi-system setups.
