As developers, many of us can attest for experiencing this same kind of journey.
We think of a unique idea for a side project to build upon, based on our self-interest and curiosity to learn more in the subject, only for us to disregard it and sweep it under the rug.
Constantly doing this process, I thought to myself what if there was a way for us to monetize the side projects and Minimum Viable Product (MVP) we created?
That's when I thought of the idea of creating SaaSifi, a marketplace tailored for individuals who want to sell and monetize their code without the hassle of marketing or managing their own platforms. We aim to provide a marketplace for Software as a Service (SaaS) boilerplates and MVPs, which is currently lacking.
You will maintain the ownership of the code and products you list on SaaSifi unless it's our own "Official" boilerplates. Our goal is to simply create an environment where innovators can sell their work and continue to innovate without the burden of maintaining it themselves.
If you want to check out more about it, the site is up and available at https://saasifi.app/
Do we have to submit out code as well? did I read that right?
Also just signed up, and when logging in, it says login successful but I am not logged in. I am not able to login at the moment
Hi Kronak,
Exactly, you will submit the repo to your code to be analyzed and checked, once it is approved you will be able to create your seller account and can either submit the .zip file of your repo for your buyer to purchase.
Regarding your sign-in, I will look into this and send an email to you regarding the next steps to fix this.
Sounds helpful, but quick suggestion though, try adding more description and visuals to your landing page. It will help your first-time stay longer.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Yes, most definitely I agree. Site still being updated and cleaning up more things to keep the bounce rate as low as possible.
So I sell my project here to someone else who would want to market or develop it further?
How is this different than microaquire or similar sites?
Feels pretty hard to sell an MVP, that doesn't have traction already, to me.
Thanks for the comment.
Exactly, the basis of this marketplace is for people to have the opportunity to find MVPs they are interested in and build upon that.
What sets us apart from Microaquire is our focus on small developers and indie hackers. Unlike what you would find on Microaquire, nothing here are established startups but mainly focused on the proof-of-concepts that other developers can build upon with all the available source code and tech-stack to provided.
There are no MVPs to shop for, why launch without anything available? That seems like a big miss. You could just make up some MVP projects and add shop or buy buttons to gauge interest or demand to make the site feel active.
Hey, thank you for your feedback.
You're right, having some MVPs available at launch would have created a more engaging experience and we are actively working on populating our platform with quality MVPs.
Per your suggestion, we were considering creating some sample MVPs to give users a better idea of what they can expect and type of products they can list. However, our main focus is to build a community of indie hackers who can share their own unique MVPs.
We're reaching out to indie hackers and small developers, inviting them to list their MVPs on our site. We're also considering partnerships with coding bootcamps and developer communities to source more MVPs.
Again, thank you for this comment!
Have you also considered having a spot on the website that lets potential customers request their own MVP to be build that would allow developers to bid or offer a price for it?
Happy to chat more, I do IT consulting and IT sales consulting.
Haven't considered anything to that sort but something that can be looked into and implemented in the future builds.
I will do some research on this and figure out how to effectively implement that because this does sound like a great idea and ensure both the customer and developer are both protected in.
