A project for all Craft Beer Lovers!
Beerpreneurs – Craft Breweries
Hello everyone, I'm Ataman living in Istanbul as a Web Developer.
We recently developed a directory website called Beerpreneurs. As a beer maker and drinker, I decided to create this directory that includes breweries all around the world. So that myself and other craft beer lovers can discover breweries in their city or add places to their next trip. For now, we have over 350 breweries yet it is growing each day. You can also request listing, write reviews or bookmark places. I used Foursquare API to get the most popular breweries in specific regions.
Next Updates will include more breweries, pubs, pub crawls and news.
Any feedback will be much appreciated.
Fascinating. I had a client who wanted to develop something very similar to this. I do believe niche markets like this have massive potential to be "appified".
Thank you!
What does this offer that Untappd doesn't?
Hi Jared, Untappd is a nice app that is built on the idea of social network. Beerpreneurs focuses on venues to help users to explore breweries (and pubs soon) in certain regions so I'd say it is simpler and points out a different purpose.
It looks awesome. I too, as well, am a beer lover but I have to say I was a little disappointed on how the application works. I was hoping that the map view would be something like Airbnb's map view (searching over the area I am currently viewing). Also, I am a little bit confused because in my country (Romania) the breweries are not to be visited and have a nice beer over there, but to craft the beer and then distribute it via various channels (supermarkets, pubs, etc).
The idea is good, but there is still work to with the implementation. The pain I am experiencing is that I don't know where to find a good craft beer (to buy it and drink it at home or drink it in a pub with some friends) and I have to go blindly and hope that they have some local crafted beer.
Hope it helps, I would really like to see it come to life and I can really see myself using at least a few times a week.
Thank you so much for your feedback. I hear you! The application is fairly new and we are working on it each day to make it more usable. We did not want to put the map right now as we do not cover most of the regions yet. But surely we will. Also, I added Bucharest for you :) Even if you are not there I hope you enjoy exploring some cool places http://www.beerpreneurs.com/region/bucharest/
