I am building an online environment based on VSCode and I need some help.
What do you normally have installed on your dev machine?
eg: golang, ruby, python, zsh, docker, php ?
What else ?
Where do I sign up?
Python, Ruby, Node, PHP, MariaDB, PostgreSQL and tools like vim, git, htop, curl, wget are what I got on every dev box.
Cloud9 marries VS Code? Fabulous!
@milozo it's a couple of weeks away :D I will make sure I post some things about it once it's ready for alpha testers :D!
This question seems a bit vague... I have tons of stuff installed on my dev machine! Maybe if you let us know a little bit more about your idea we can help you out a little better 😊️
well I am building a remote box system, and I am using ansible roles for setting up software and I am just wondering what should I have as a minimum ? You can install more things later but I want to have a template system so you can share your box config with others
Like gitpod.io ? have:
Yeah kinda similar but fully fledged vscode and powerful servers, I’m traveling and I’m on bad connections a lot and I want to replace my vscode with an online version. But keep my own plugins etc. So kinda devised a system where team can share the server configs and each person has their own vscode config. So it’s kinda easy to set up dev envs for every one
Dedicated VS code...sounds good idea.
I surely need npm and maybe python. I am assuming you will have remote terminal.
