A small update to OTI, an open source one-time secret sharing app

Hi. I made OTI, a small open source project for sharing a message or a small .txt file through a link that can be opened once.

The message is encrypted in the browser. The server only stores encrypted data and the private key stays in the link.

I recently added a confirmation button before opening a secret, removal after the first real view, a creator receipt page, QR sharing, encrypted .txt files up to 100 KB, password protection and an expiry countdown.

I built OTI to learn more about AdonisJS 6 and browser encryption, and to leave something useful for open source. It is a simple project and the code is MIT licensed.

I used an AI coding assistant for parts of the implementation, review, formatting and documentation. I made the architecture and final decisions, reviewed the code and tested the final code myself.

The confirmation-before-opening change is a small detail, but it seems important for the actual trust model of a one-time secret. Once “opened” is irreversible, making that boundary explicit probably matters more than adding another sharing feature.
