A Solo Freelancer SaaS "Blog"
Not really a blog, but an affiliate site like Nerd Wallet.
The idea is to create an Affiliate website that markets the best SaaS tools, that helps solo freelancers / solo founders / solo developers.
For example, highlighting productivity tools that cater to solo freelancers, rather than tools like Monday which are catered towards teams. Or marketing tools to help with dealing with taxes like Turbotax etc.
The monetization will come obviously from affiliate marketing, but this is a great niche and target audience, because most SaaS tools provide a free trail, then converts into a monthly subscription.
What do you guys think?
Obviously this would take a hell of a lot of time for it to become profitable, probably a good 2 years of constantly publishing content, but there's virtually 0 cost to start this, and I believe this is a good niche & target audience.
This would be an amazing idea.
I'd imagine sourcing from the SaaS vendors themselves would be trivial.
A lot of SaaS vendors offer generous monthly ongoing commissions, like my own app, Zlappo.
So I'd start there: plenty of SaaS apps are very happy to welcome new affiliates.
If you can review the apps with an authentic voice, even better.
Blogs that monetize primarily with affiliate marketing can be wildly profitable.
GoodLookingLoser.com is one very successful niche site doing just that.
