I've spent the last few weeks building www.sustainableshopper.co - and I'm looking for some helpful feedback! It's a list of companies that all have certifications from 3rd party organizations showing their commitment to sustainable business practices. My goal is to help people who are just starting to think about the values of the companies they choose to give their money to. I know this is not a perfect product but I think it could be useful to a certain group of people out there. I'm interested to hear your thoughts and any (constructive) feedback.
And I'm not a designer or a developer. This was the first project I've belt from scratch in Webflow. Any design tips would also be helpful.
I had a similar idea a while back. A website showing what is produced locally. Essentially, what can you buy that is in season and travels the least distance. For example, there are a lot of blueberry farms in B.C. so buying that locally from local producers is more sustainable than buying avocados from California.
I would love to see the next step as an "Etsy for farmers". Something where food/product providers can sign up and sell their goods to locals for pickup. The producers make better profits and the products are more sustainable since there's less transport.
Hope that helps,
