Hey Indie Hackers!
I just launched SCANCX — a simple tool that scans any website within seconds for issues that silently kill customer trust and conversions.
Most great sites lose sales due to things like:
Slow load speed
Broken SSL
Poor mobile experience
Confusing return/refund policies
Surprise costs at checkout
Annoying Pop-ups
SCANCX checks for these issues and gives a clear, human-readable report — no essays, no dev jargon. It's built for indie founders, small business owners, and even shoppers who want to know if they can trust a site.
✅ Bootstrapped
👥 25 early users
💡 Pre-revenue
I'd love feedback from this community:
What other checks would you want before trusting a website?
How would you monetize this?
Would you find this useful for your own site?
Appreciate your thoughts, and happy to help anyone building in the trust/UX/conversion space!
For monetization, maybe a free tier with basic scans and a paid plan for deeper reports or scheduled scans. I’d definitely use this on my own site to catch surprises before they hurt conversions.
Appreciate the suggestion! I’ve been thinking along similar lines - basic scans to get users in, and premium features for those who want to stay ahead of issues. Great to hear you’d use it on your own site. That’s exactly the kind of feedback that helps shape this right.
Glad I could help
Okay, so this is a cool idea but...
you need testimonials and "before & After" images
I would turn the description:
"Scan any website to identify customer experience issues, performance bottlenecks, and trust indicators. Get actionable recommendations to improve conversions."
into step by step arrows, that show the process.
My monitors don't handle white well, so i dont like white backgrounds.
if you tell me something is wrong with my website be prepared to offer solutions. I think you should offer something for free (the bait) with estimates on how much more money the website can make. something like, your website is making xxx at the moment could potential bring in XXX, Create an account to learn how. or create an account to access our trusted and verified resources.
In conclusion the two options are charge them to receive information on how to fix it or make them sign up for an account.
People don't care about "what's new" because we are not invested. Move that to the dashboard for people who are invested or to a newsletter.
way too many words for me. it could just be that i am not your target customer even though i think the service is cool. I understand what it does but now how it does or what it looks like. Think about if i tried to sell you a chocolate quadruple chip ice cream but didn't show any pictures of what it looked like or of people eating it with a fork and knife so you know it doesn't come in a cone. You probably wouldn't buy it even though i described it in two paragraphs, in addition to how its made from an eco friendly environment.
Put the payment plans/options on a different page called "price"
The first thing people should see is what they can get for free. with minimal scrolling. You want them to try you out immediately and learn more later. You can upsell them once they are invested in your ecosystem.
also why not call it "UX" instead of "CX"? you get more SEO real estate out of UX. that could even have some rebranding potential if you combine it right. "Scan UX"
That's all from me. Take everything i said with a grain of salt and trust the data.
Thank you so much for the thoughtful and brutally honest feedback — it was genuinely helpful. I’ve already made several changes based on your suggestions:
Simplified the homepage copy and added a visual step-by-step flow.
Highlighted the free scan offer more prominently at the top.
Added potential conversions in scan results if issues are fixed.
Adding a dark background toggle (you’re right about the white).
Moved pricing to its own page and pushed “What’s New” to the dashboard.
Still working on incorporating before/after visuals.
Really appreciate your time and insights. If you check it out again, I’d love to hear what you think of the updates!

no extra fat. straight to the point
Just checked out the update.
Way better in my opinion. On the first page I got everything I wanted to see. and when I see free, I get curious which inspires/encourages me to read more to understand why and what you get out of the free deal. Great job.
-only critique is for everything after the first section. The details are too wordy. I am really looking for surface level information. the information available is not really telling me much. usually on the front page you want to address pain points and what you do better then your competition. random details mean nothing without context. as I and most who come to the site probably won't know what most of these technical words mean, so they will go over my and the customer's head.
-still don't see the dark background toggle, but the moon and sun symbol work amazingly well as icons for communicating dark mode and light mode.
but again "grain of salt"
Love this! So many wasted opportunities for hard working folks building their sites.
I look forward to following your progress. I had many years of being a QA manager for an automotive glass manufacturer. I am amazed at how my old profession translates into the tech world. It is needed so bad.
Really appreciate that! You're spot on - so much valuable experience from traditional industries like yours is exactly what's needed in tech right now. Quality thinking doesn't go out of style. Excited to keep sharing and learning together!
very cool! are you using GPT to analyze the UX? One note, I tried scanning your own site lol (eat your own dog food) and it didn't do that well, might wanna look into it: 43/100.
I can help you design it better if you want, I specialize in high converting sites with ux/ui design
