A weekly launch platform where indie makers actually get seen

Hey IH! I'm Jan, and I built WeekHack — a weekly product launch platform for indie hackers and solo builders.

The problem I kept running into:

Every time I shipped a side project, I'd launch it on Product Hunt and cross my fingers. But with 50+ products launching on the same day, mine would get buried within hours unless I had a big following or got lucky with the algorithm. Sound familiar?

I talked to other indie makers and heard the same frustration over and over: "I spent months building this thing and it got 12 upvotes."

What WeekHack does differently:

Instead of a daily firehose, WeekHack runs on a weekly cycle. Products get a full week of visibility — Monday through Sunday — and the community votes on what they like.

No algorithm picking winners, no editorial gatekeeping.

The top products each week earn a permanent dofollow backlink (DR 50+), which is the thing that actually moves the needle for SEO long-term. Not just a badge — real, lasting value.

How it works:

- Submit your product for free (or $19 to skip the queue and pick your launch week)

- Your product is live for the full week for community voting

- Top 3 earn winner badges + high-authority dofollow backlinks

- Optional add-ons: directory submissions to 50+ sites, expert reviews, social promotion

Built with:

Next.js 15, Supabase, Stripe, Tailwind, deployed on Vercel. The whole thing is bootstrapped — no funding, no team, just nights and weekends.

Where I'm at:

The platform is live and accepting submissions. Early traction has been promising — makers appreciate the weekly format because it takes the pressure off and gives products room to breathe. I'm focused on growing the voter community and getting consistent weekly launches.

What's next:

- Growing the community of voters and makers

- Building out maker profiles and launch analytics

- More comparison/alternatives content for organic discovery

I'd love for you to check it out at weekhack.com and let me know what you think. Happy to answer any questions about the build, the business model, or the launch strategy.
