Looking to connect with makers working on traction, users, growth.
Hi Makers,
I'm looking connect with 2-3 (or more) serious makers/founders/PMs ? that are in early stages working to get traction, users, growth.
I've just launched a couple of small products and have a few users but I am in very early stages and needing to work thru growth with low budget.
I guess it's part mastermind / part 'support group'.
I'm working on my own strategy/playbook, but if I'm honest, the HOW/WHAT mechanical stuff is really only PART of it.
I really need a small group of people who can share the ups & downs, give feedback & encouragement, as well as talk strategic stuff.
While building can be fun, the marketing part can be much more emotional. Having a place to dust myself off and push thru would be great.
If this sounds like you, I'll invite you to a slack (not my fav, but not sure I have a better option yet) and we can see about helping all of us grow.
Again, really looking for anyone who's launched something relatively recently (in the last 1-24 months ??) and seeking users / traction / growth.
If you're in idea phase, probably not a fit.
I thought about making the slack public, but .. thought maybe this is better if you just respond and I can send and invite...
let me know, please :)
If you don't want to comment, you can just send me an email to kevin@tinysprout.co
Count me in Kevin - based in Ireland and looking over the Atlantic.

Hi Neil, send me an email at the email above and I'll send an invite.
I've launched and am working mostly on marketing. I'm interested in joining the discussion.
awesome - shoot me an email (last line of post above) and I'll send an invite to you.
What market is your business in?
Hi there, I've got a couple of small projects - maybe one in a similar niche as you. Might be great to work together? I'll email you.
That's a nice initiative @kevinkevin!
What outcome to you expect exactly. At Achieved we're currently working on pre-launch traction. We'd be happy to share our techniques and success / failures but we're based in Belgium (EU) so timezone for a live event might be tricky.
Happy to contribute anyway.
I don't know that it really matters where - while I said US, it was for 2 main reasons, A) in case this turned into a mastermind where we talked, and B) one of my products is primarily focused on USA market, but ultimately, anyone who can share and participate is really welcome... I'm wondering if making the slack public is the better thing or keep it limited for now, and once we get acclimated, decide if it should be open.
Do you prefer a cozy jazz club or a rave party? :-)

Public / Open slack
yeah, right now, I need to focus on growing my products. So really more interested in having a private group that is all focused on that vs managing yet another thing :)
wise choice ^^

Hi Kevin!
That sounds like me, I have some ups (front page of HN for more than 24 hours, yay!) and lots of downs (received a cease and desist, boooo).
I’m def struggling with the marketing phase :)
what's your product?

sometimes the ups out number the downs, but ... not usually.
Ouch - are you still launching your product?
yup, found a way to still distribute it with them on board :) I should just avoid talking a lot about it publicly.
send me an email to kevin@tinysprout.co and I'll get this started
I'd be up for that.
HI, cool. how long have you been launched? I'll check back later today and send out invites in case there are more and I only need to do it once a day :)
I'm Community Manager here for IH atm :) Also have a business that I'm moving away from and a couple of side projects that I'd love to get started.
I've mostly done all the community/marketing stuff on my projects, am not hugely technical. But sometimes feel I haven't kept up with all the things I should know about.
Depending how public/private you want it, we could create a hashtag here to regularly contribute to?

Interesting - yeah marketing is more important here in this context for sure. there are so many good ideas out there, but in general ideas alone don't cut it.
Interesting idea about the hashtag - I'd be interested in hearing more. For me, I haven't decided how much should be public or private - I assume 2 things - 1) not everyone cares what I'm working on, and 2) not sure if I should be careful with what to share or not...
I'd love to hear more thoughts on that..
k
Could always make it a bit of a mix of the two.
There's a #marketing hashtag which could do with some love and perhaps share some things with the community. We could create a more specific hashtag too and set a goal to discuss something once per week.
We could combine it with other stuff/calls/slack.
