I recommend finding relevant subreddits where people have discussed the problem your product solves. This gives you the opportunity to tell them about what you offer without it being spammy, as well as learning more about their pain points.

There is no harm in posting your product to places such as ProductHunt and BetaPage (though I wouldn't recommend paying for any of them).

Posting is relatively little work, and worst case you post for free and get nothing from it. Keep in mind that the target audience on these platforms is typically other entrepreneurs and indie makers, so if your product doesn't target that market it likely won't perform too well.

I was looking for this answer. I was in the mind paying for it but after research, it's not worth the money. I've submitted without payment.

I Paid $58 for paid review on Betapage and got 320 visitors from newsletter and converted to 65 signups. Not bad, < $1 per signup. Traffic from website was not good enough.

We have posted our Product on popular review sites as you mentioned above. The chances of conversion are low, but it will provide you exposure to a wide market; something is what you get, if not everything.

I guess it recommended to do so.

    PH yes. BetaPage/BetaList no.

PH only because it's popular. I managed to get #3 product of the day. Combined with other channels like a journalist's review and a post on Reddit, it gave me ~3000 installs in the first few days and some healthy 2% conversion, despite the fact that my product is B2C and quite pricey for the mobile market. Unfortunately I didn't have the means to separate install sources back then — only traffic to the landing page, so can't really say what conversion alone PH gave.

I don't really trust BetaPage/BetaList. I heard mixed reviews about them. Also they heavily push you to pay to get listed, otherwise they put you in a 40-day queue. Decided it wasn't worth it.

    Hi,
I posted on Betalist. 100 visitors came in 3 days, conversion rate 0%.
My product is B2B. I didn’t expect on any conversation.

How many of those visitors were willing to sign up?
