Would you rent developers from other company to build the next project? Especially when rented developers have lower prices than in-house or local freelancers.
@sumanjung How is this different from outsourcing to the other company?
Also if you're going to be using external developers for in-house projects, what is the need of keeping in-house developers if they too expensive for you?
I would keep it open as a possibility, just make sure you are making your decision based on the TOTAL cost of that developer. This includes their time lost to misunderstanding your objectives, your time lost in communicating with them, overall time lost when your project is not a priority for them because they have bigger customers, etc etc. Hourly /daily rate isn't the only cost.
Ok how about renting dedicated developers who will work dedicatedly on your project only and the communication is a breeze? They report the progress via tracking tools. In addition, the project manager oversees everything.
In my experience, communication is always a challenge with off-site contractors. You tend to have to OVER communicate to make sure that everyone is on the same page, and over communicating takes time. It can still be worth it, you just need to go into it with your eyes open.
