🎾 About to reach 2000 users with Doyouplay - find tennis partners nearby

In April 2024 Ivan and I started building PlayTennisLA with a third founder. PlayTennisLA proved LA players wanted better partner matching, but we kept hearing the same frustrations: slow responses, geographic limitations, and a desktop experience in a mobile world. So we didn't just update PlayTennisLA. We reimagined what tennis partner matching should be in 2025.

We built an iphone app and rebuilt a website, now under the name Doyouplay. We're about to reach 2000 users and counting! If you're looking for new people to play tennis with, try us out: www.doyouplayapp.com

If you ever add skill-based filters, I got surprisingly good mileage from checking player form and matchup stats on tennisdata.app while organizing local hits. It helped me understand how people actually play rather than just what level they claim, which made matching smoother. Could be handy if you plan to add optional performance insights for users who want more reliable partner pairing.

This is awesome, congrats on nearing 2000 users! That's a fantastic milestone.

I'm especially impressed that you pivoted based on user feedback. I'm really curious: what has been your single most effective user acquisition channel for getting these first 2000 users?

Wishing you the best on your way to 10k users!

Thanks! We thought flyers at physical courts would be our main channel, since our potential users often already play tennis and need courts to do so. After numerous attempts we rejected the hypothesis. It's the good old SEO and social media that works. We've been at it since 2024 so I'd argue we haven't figured out our main marketing channel yet. Working on it though!
