Hey IH!
I lied, it's not really a landing page, it's my new (portfolio) website. After procrastinating for over an year, I finally decided to revamp my website which is now almost 5 years old! 🤯
I would love to know what you think! Is there something you'd immediately change? I really respect opinions on Indie Hackers, so I wanted to seek some for myself! 🙏🏼
New Website: https://beta.akshatmittal.com/
It's significantly different from the current website and still a WIP. I initially planned on making something fancy, but ended up on something simple and easy to understand instead.
If you have a website and/or a product page, please include a link and I'd be happy to critique it!
Thank you!
"I'm always looking for a new challenge"
Be more specific, did you learn a new skill, new process, language etc. Personally, I love your energy, but your clients are not going to paying you to learn.
"I'd love to talk"
Make this more about the client. e.g. "Bring your and new and exciting projects to life. Let's talk about your vision"
I've no frame of reference here just asking. Does the design of your portfolio represent you personally or your work? Is this your intent?
All the best,
First of all, thank you for the comments, I appreciate it! I'm definitely going to incorporate them.
The portfolio does actually represent my irl personality as well as how I go about building things. Most of the things on the website like gradients, layout, format, colors, interactions, etc. are using patterns that I really enjoy and try to use in everything I make.
My intention with the first section is to demonstrate that I'm good with stepping outside of my comfort zone, with a very diverse set of ideas and technologies.
The primarily purpose of the portfolio isn't exactly to find clients, I'm fairly booked until quite some time and most of my clients come back often. Besides, I mostly build my own products now. The purpose behind this portfolio is just to showcase my personality, capability and what I'm doing/do. Now that I'm thinking about it though, I might rephrase some other things to focus on this intent as well.
