Accessibility as a service (productized)
Hi folks,
I'm a designer dabbling with the idea of a productized service. I have seen I am not the only one :) I am trying to niche down to an area I have an specialized skill in.
One of my ideas was to provide accessibility design services on a subscription basis. The primary audience would likely be developers, engineers, maybe PMs, or potentially companies without designers.
Would this be something you would consider paying for? I started a landing page but have only spent about an hour - it needs A LOT of work - I am just trying to put an idea together at the moment. https://accessibilityally.carrd.co/#
Since it's still unlikely to be in initial budgets for small teams, as the previous two commenters shared, would you be able to get government grants or funding for something like this as accessibility becomes more important for companies?

I've developed products as a solo dev and I've worked in early stage small startups and I can tell that in that environment we never had money or time to spend on accessibility. We just made UIs to the best of our abilities hoping to figure out accessibility in the future when we have more resources and when it's actually valuable to us.
I'd recommend turning this into a one-man freelance consultancy and target scale-ups instead of single devs or indie hackers.

Why would it be a subscription service? In my eyes, once you have made the foundation of my website accessible, then my website is accessible, and I have no need to pay a recurring fee.
I wouldn't pay for a subscription, but I like the idea of this being a service.
I imagine your target markets would be larger companies, as unfortunately I don't think accessibility is at the top of solo developer's to-do list.
