Accidental help from Google Play

The past few days ever since I have joined IH, I have been trying to solicit ideas and criticism on how to improve my landing page (https://dailynewsound.com) and very few have commented on the functionality, and so far, they are mostly compliments that is not actionable. That was true until Google Play actually rejected my app stating the following messages:

  1. It appears your app: "Does not provide adequate information about the news publisher and its contributors"
  2. News apps MUST: "provide adequate information about the news publisher and its contributors including clear ownership"
  3. News apps MUST: "have a website or in-app page that provides valid contact information for the news publisher."
  4. News apps MUST NOT: "contain significant spelling & grammar errors,"
  5. News apps MUST NOT: "contain only static content, and"
  6. News apps MUST NOT: "have affiliate marketing or ad revenue as its primary purpose."

It seemed like a shock to me at first coming up with this list of issues I need to resolve, but I have to give at least, some props to the Google Play team for always coming up and preserving the best practices.

(Side note: This made me scratch my head in code renaming the 'Feed' functions into the 'Search' functions instead, which truthfully suited its true purpose and functionality. So thanks again, Google play.)
