Achieving goals for your Productized Service Business

It is easy to set fluffy and unclear goals. When it comes to business goals I have leveraged this framework to successfully set goals and hit them over and over again.

This past week I was working on goals for Productized Mentor my private community for Productized Service Business owners and thought this could be valuable to share.

I have found now more than ever before it is vital to reset goals based on the very fast-changing landscape. Below is a framework and questions I hope will help you as you navigate today's choppy waters.

Step 1: Understand where you truly are - Point A
Step 2: Set an uber clear goal - Point B
Step 3: Truly understand what the gap is between where you are and where you want to be.
Step 4: Identify the true obstacles that are, and will prevent you from reaching that desired goal

Most people don't have that type of clarity. That is just the start.

Next, I encourage you to avoid vague or wishful thinking. One of my mentors said it best. "Most are shooting a bullet at a wall, then painting a bulls-eye around the hole and awarding themselves a gold medal for marksmanship"

You want to have extreme clarity around:

How will you achieve the desired outcome?
What specific activities will be required to do?
Who is going to perform them?
What re the standards of performance?
What are the critical drivers that need to be done consistently?
How will these be measured?
Who owns this outcome?

--> A plan without specificity of deliverables and dates is a fantasy <--

Have a great weekend guys!

Really enjoyed this. When I am overwhelmed with the features I assume I need to be commercially viable, I force myself to scope down to something ridiculously small a la Stanford's B.J. Fogg (of Tiny Habits fame), I think? It's not a panacea but it helps.
