Acquisition Channel Opportunities: Instagram, SEO, Facebook

I've analyzed over 1800 articles from the past week and identified the top 3 most relevant news relevant for indie founders:

1. Instagram Released a New Ad Format Worldwide

Instagram just expanded Reels Ads from 8 countries to the entire world.

Where these ads will show up: In the Instagram viewer, which appears after you open a Reel video via Stories, the Explore tab or your feed.

They will be interactive: People will be able to like, comment on and share Reels ads. So, if you make something cool, it has the potential to go viral organically

The opportunity: Every new ad format has much lower CPC costs than established ad formats. I'm seeing reports on Twitter and Clubhouse that this is now happening for Instagram Reels Ads.

2. Google Wants You to Create More Content People Want

Google has just published a blog post announcing an “Insights” section for Search Console.

Here are some questions that Search Console Insights can help you with:

  • How are new content pieces currently performing?
  • What pieces of content perform the best?
  • How do people discover my content across the web?
  • What keywords people enter on Google before visiting my content?
  • Which article(s) refers users to my content?

...and so on.

The opportunity: An easier way to see what content is performing. If something works, it's a good idea to double down on it.

3. Shopify released a feature that can 1.72x your conversion rate if you sell e-commerce on Facebook or Google

Shopify wants to speed up checkout on the entire web, not just their platform.

The company will make their accelerated “Shop Pay” checkout available to all merchants on Facebook and Google, even if they don’t have a Shopify store.

What’s the fuss about Shop Pay: According to Shopify, it’s 70 percent faster than a typical checkout and can get you 1.72x higher conversion rate. “Fill carts, not forms” is the official tagline.

Availability: The people who are first to get it are merchants from the US and on Facebook. Merchants on Google will get Shopify Pay in late 2021.

The opportunity: Improved conversion rates due to people being easy to buy something fast.

Would you say google thing will push for more longer form content ?

It's a tricky one and depends on the niche. But in general yeah, many people will associate length=quality.
