Looking for feedback! Dashboard templates built in React.js
Hello fellow Indie Hackers! I’ve been working on this for a little while and I’m looking for some feedback! It’s called Nice Dash (https://www.nicedash.com/).
The idea is to sell dashboard templates built in the popula
Love the domain name/Brand
Very clean UX and the idea is spot on.
Thank you!
Hey there,
Okay here we go with some quick wins, change these and you will increase conversions:
Get your UI projects up and running quickly
Sub header to:
React.js dashboards for startups that work on all devices.
Add a clear call to action to the top of your page, it's crazy there is none at the moment.
Add a heading that says: 'Our product features' - above your product features
Add the heading 'Examples of Nice Dash dashboards' above your template designs.
These are just a few quick wins there's a lot more that could be done.
I'm creating a proper guide for landing page optimisation, you can join and get a free guide today at Userbly.com : )
Thanks for the actionable feedback! I will implement those changes.
What's your goal? Do you want to build a business out of it, do you want to earn a little extra money on the side, do you want to promote your services, or do you just want to learn and give something back?
As a business, it will be hard to scale. Competition is fierce in this field, and there will always be someone doing it better and cheaper, or someone who employs 10 or 100 people doing it better and cheaper – and faster. (Coincidentally, I recently found and bookmarked something very similar, https://janlosert.com/store/dashboard-ui-kit-3.html)
When it comes to React, there are a couple of more strings attached. You'll need to make some choices, e.g. regarding styling and theming, and hope that they resonate with the buyer. But what if I prefer StyleSheets over Styled Components, which you don't support, but the other guy offering a React Dashboard template?
But wait, you're building the whole storefront and payment process and whatnot for yourself anyway, don't you?
If you aim to build a business out of this, I'd try to pivot towards a marketplace, like e.g. wrapbootstrap.com for Bootstrap templates.
Looks really nice and I'm a massive React ambassador. One brutally honest observation though so please correct me if I've missed your USP.
In terms of paying for a commercial license, I can probably achieve most of this using AntD Design components and Highcharts for React. The only disadvantage of AntD is that they've just re-skinned open existing source components to look pretty and some of their components have performance problems.
I like the UI, very clean and nice colors!
Here are some suggestions:
Some transitions, i.e when expanding the side bar menu or while
navigating pages, when the alert is displayed.
Tables --
You might want to implement responsive tables.
You can also introduce data tables, they're quite useful in dashboards.
Forms --
File selector's design can be improved a bit.
Also variations of select box can be used, one with searching capability
perhaps.
Concept seems decent, but here would be some of my objections:
Why not just rely on something like HighCharts or other existing libraries?
If you're purely going for themeing, then it looks like your theme is a bit too simplistic, i.e. not enough different widgets covering different use cases.
Thanks David! I plan on adding more widgets for more specific use cases. Right now I have an "Apps" section that has examples of different layouts and widgets for common dashboards. Do you think adding more like this would help?
I think it needs to be more refined — your analytics app seems very simplistic compared to one might want to build, e.g. you "Traffic" widget has no numbers, the pie chart no labels, etc. Try to remember why people use analytics dashboards. They want insights, not pretty charts.
I love it! I will be looking forward to using a lot of these templates.
React isn’t framework, it just library
That is a good point! I will be sure to change that!
