Hey IH! I've been lurking and commenting here for a bit, and wanted to finally share what I've been building.
The problem: Every founder I talked to said the same thing — "I know I should be running ads, but I don't have time to design them and I can't afford a designer." They'd spend hours in Canva trying to make something passable, or just skip paid acquisition entirely because the creative production bottleneck was too painful.
What AdShot does: You paste any URL — your landing page, product page, Shopify store, whatever — and AdShot uses AI to analyze your brand, product, and messaging, then generates ready-to-post ad creatives for 13 platforms (Meta, Google, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, Pinterest, and more) in about 30 seconds. No design skills needed. No briefs. No back-and-forth with designers. Just paste and go.
The tech behind it: We're using Claude (Sonnet) for copy generation and brand analysis, FLUX/fal.ai for image generation, and a custom rendering pipeline that formats everything to each platform's exact specs. The stack is Next.js 15, React 19, TypeScript, Supabase, and Stripe. Built the whole thing as a solo technical founder.
What I learned building this: The biggest insight was that nobody searches for "AI ad generation." What they actually feel is: "I need to run ads but making them look good is a whole separate job I don't have bandwidth for." Once I stopped talking about the AI and started talking about that feeling, people got it immediately. Another lesson — time-to-first-output is everything. If someone can paste a URL and see a real ad they could post in under a minute, they're hooked. If they have to configure settings, pick templates, make design choices first, they bounce. We killed a ton of features to keep that first experience frictionless.
Where we are: Early stage, free tier available, actively looking for feedback from founders and marketers who are running (or want to run) paid ads.

Would love to hear from anyone who's dealt with the ad creative bottleneck — what's your current workflow for making ads? And for other AI SaaS builders, how are you thinking about the balance between AI automation and giving users control?
