Advertising in procasts
Hey everyone!
I'm glad to say that my website, sailnear.com, is finally live.
I have been thinking about doing some advertisement for it via podcasts.. I thought it would bring a good approach rather than going with Google ads as I usually would. And it would also help small podcasters financially.
Now I'm wondering if advertising is something you do in your own podcasts, or if you monetise some other way? Maybe there is a service like letterwell .co, but for podcasts?
Hey there @Maltmax - My team at Vurbl (vurbl.com) is finding success offering show notes sponsorships to small to medium size podcasts. Under $150 per episode and our average is under $50 so far. $15 to $150 is the range we're finding.
It's taking time to do the manual outreach, but our conversion rate is over 90% as many small to medium size podcasts can easily add the copy and link to their show notes and often mentions in their episodes, social posts and email newsletter mentions as additional things we can tap into.
If I were a media brand like SailNear.com, I'd push this strategy as hard as possible for at least a few months to get early backlinks, awareness for the brand, social mentions, etc...

So do you have have any strategy of finding these small to medium size podcasts?
I see many podcasts as I scroll through my Spotify app. But as you say, we should be looking for the smaller podcasts.

Yeah, don't peruse the distribution platforms. Those won't help. I'd start by joining all of the Podcast Facebook Groups you can find. There are a handful with thousands of members.
I've also recently come across some community forum sites and slack accounts.
