Advice for hiring a growth marketer

HyperCharts is now in a position where I can hire a marketer to help accelerate growth. So I'm looking to hire someone on a part time basis to help me with marketing strategy, managing paid ads, finding new partnerships and channels, and so on.

But I'm more on the technical/product side with no experience in hiring for marketing, so I would love to hear from people in the same position on how to find the right person for this job. Any advice is really appreciated.

And if anyone has a recommendation for a rockstar marketer who could help here, I'd love a referral.

I would check out marketerhire.com - I don't know anyone that has used them...but I like the concept.

At the center of it all is good data and sound understanding of the user...that'll lend itself to good marketing practices...so ideally you find someone who can surface and utilize that data. Ideally, that person understands your product positioning in the marketplace, can use data to build audiences and also model out the costs and acquisition economics, and can put the right tooling in place to help you best communicate with your audience.

Also, just discovering your product. Excited to check it out!

I've worked as a marketer with MarketerHire and can speak to their legitimacy. They have a pretty rigorous recruiting process.

I would recommend starting with a product marketer -- they can bridge the gap between the tech/product side and the marketing. You'll need someone who not only can do all the things you mentioned in terms of execution, but also someone who can formulate a go-to-market strategy, which is what you'll need.
