Advice for integrating payments systems for the first time

I am working on first SaaS product and I need to enable payments for my service. I've never integrated with payment systems.

Can you share :

What providers are best on the market - transaction cost, easy to integrate, etc...

Since it is my first time, what other points I need to pay attention.
