Advice on selling a desktop app

Splashify - Stunning desktop wallpapers for Mac & Windows

I've just released my first (paid) desktop app called Splashify πŸŽ‰ I'm still waiting for it to be approved on the Mac/Windows App Store before the official launch. However, I have a few questions that I'd love some community feedback on:

  • Do you think a price of Β£3.99 (~$5.30) is reasonable for a desktop wallpaper app?
  • Would you consider purchasing an app like this without a free trial?
  • If I sold an annual license (instead of a one-off purchase) do you think people would renew their license?

Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated πŸ‘

    Cool idea to leverage Unsplash.

Unfortunately I'm not your target customer (I have the same background image for over a year) so wouldn't pay for this. But with that said, wanted to share some feedback because I've been thinking a lot about pricing recently for my project (www.tribefive.me for reference).

Re: free trial - I don't know that it needs a free trial. Your intro video did a really good job highlighting how Splashify works! Maybe instead, you give a 30 day money back guarantee?

Re: annual license - this doesn't resonate with me to pay an annual fee to use this product. A one time payment feels more in line.

    Good luck!

Thanks for your feedback Jonathan. Your suggestions confirm my own feelings re free trial/licensing. The money back guarantee is a good idea πŸ‘
