Hello IH! First-time poster here.
I have been using AdWords extensively and wanted to share tips that have been helpful for me. I also hope to learn from others and would love to hear about your experiences with AdWords.
I'll start with what might be the most obvious but also the most important: use unique URLs for each ad and keyword combination you create.
Why this matters: You must learn which ads and keywords are converting into signups and paying customers. This will allow you to increase your spending on ads that convert and drop ads that don't. There's no point having an ad that looks like it's performing great in AdWords (high clicks and CTR) but doesn't result in customers.
Let me know if you're interested in seeing more posts like this and I'll follow up with more!
You can do this by linking google analytics too :)
Thanks for the tip! Would you mind sharing more details about how you're using Google Analytics?
Nothing super complicated - if you set up your Google Analytics events as conversions in GA, then link it to your Adwords account, you can track Conversion Rate from Adwords and see which ads / keywords perform the best conversion-wise... it'll be in the columns furthest to the right :).
Thanks for sharing. Do you know if it's possible to track ads from other services (e.g. Facebook) the same way?
One nice thing about splitting out ads locally is that all ad platforms can be tracked with one system.
