Affiliate marketing for your own product?

Hi friends,

Has anyone had any success doing affiliate marketing for their own product?
Especially a B2B product.

My product is $20 / month / user and I am looking at a 50/50 split.

Is there someone who has any experience in this space?

Thanks

I have an affiliate program as well, and I can tell you that at the beginning, I was losing money because not all my partners were active and actually helped me promote my business. If you're planning to get into the affiliate marketing, I highly recommend you use affiliate marketing software to track partners' performance and analyze KPIs.

How has it been working for you. How do you attract affiliates? What's the split?

It's working ok. I've currently got 50 affiliates, but I'd say only ~5 are really active and helping promote when there's a promotion. I've heard from others that this is normal for others in my industry too. My spilt is 40% for products and 15-20% on services and some of the products, I do a cost assessment each time I launch a new thing because I also give $1 from every order on my site to One Tree Planted, so I need to factor that in as well.

In my experience there's a fair bit of work you'll need to do on the backend to have it work for you, not just set up the software and run (which is what I did when I first started). At the moment, I've got:

        • an affiliate HQ notion page (with all the info affiliates would need before of after joining as an affiliate i.e. product list, commission rates, and anything else you'd want them to know.
        • swipe copy (both emails and social) for both general anytime promotions and also specific ones for each new launch/sale/promotion you want help from affiliates with.
        • lots of graphics ready-made for them to share

Then in terms of attracting people to join, I've got it listed on my site footer, so people can find it and join on their own if they'd like (but I don't have it set to auto approve, and I deny/block all spammy looking applications), and then it's also in a lot of my email sequences, so most if not all of my customers and subscribers know about it and can join if they're interested. I also sometimes talk about it in business facebook groups. I haven't done much active outreach for it in terms of asking people directly to join 1-1 though, and I think that would work really well if you had the time and the right connections.

If you need help/ advice/support from someone Zoe Linda can help write affiliate copy and swipe files for you, or set up anything else you need: https://beachbabestock.com/wizard/ (affiliate link) 😂

Is this first marketing effort you make? if not, what has been the success so far?

Content marketing mostly and sharing links on social media. Have 400 visitors since launch and 6 signups.
