I am considering implementing Affiliate links for my project "1st things 1st".

I have several questions regarding affiliate links:
- Do any of you have experience with any of these networks? What are the pros and cons of using them?
- What happens if website visitors reject the marketing cookies? Are there technical ways to still track the successful affiliate link?
- Do any of these networks have communities of influencers who would like to use your affiliate links? Or do you always have to hunt for them yourself?
- Which affiliate networks are GDPR compliant?

Regarding your questions:
I would go for a network, as when you are trying to scale things it will help you to do so. You can always start yourself, and only use the network when you are ready for it / willing to pay.
For some cookies you don't need consent. If they don't build up profile & purely work on your site, it might not need consent (our doesn't).
A network should have people in their database who want to start referring you. The more well known your brand is, the more likely they want to refer you. If you are really early stage; find the first affiliates yourself.
I would start by checking which ones are in Europe, and go from there.
