Today I launched Product Hunt for the second time. The first time was of little use. After 5 years I wanted to try it again. This is what I wrote in my commentary:
We are still alive.
When we launched the first version of GuideDoc, about 5 years ago, one of our first actions to try to make ourselves known was to present our platform on Product Hunt. At that time the launch in this community was... normal.
Many years have passed and GuideDoc has changed enormously. You can get an idea of the struggle it has been for us to try to launch a streaming platform with the giants we compete with... Besides, we are a company without any external funding and a very small team.
Over the years we've grown quite a bit (although we're still a drop in the bucket in the streaming industry) but we've added over a thousand movies to our catalog, completely revamped our website and features and developed apps for almost every platform.
When I told people around me that I wanted to relaunch GuideDoc on ProductHunt, everyone advised me to hire an external team, to read a thousand articles on the subject, to spend a few weeks planning the launch... But, in truth, I prefer to allocate our limited resources to documentary filmmaking.
I simply wanted to explain to the Product Hunt community that we have survived, that we have improved and that we have done the best we could. Thanks for reading.
Let's see what happens. :-) If you want to take a look, here is the link: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/guidedoc-2

Felicidades Victor, a por todas!
Gracias mil!
de nada!
It takes years to become an overnight success ;)
Good luck! Upvoted.
Amazing, Víctor. Once I learned from the founder of BigCommerce that a startup might take between 8-10 years to make an impact. You certainly have made it before, but I am sure that the biggest growth is still ahead.
I am impressed that you persisted through these years with all the challenges that you faced. I would have quit, but as many people say, you have to persist and prove them right.
Congrats! You a true inspiration!
Thank you very much for your comment. Indeed, many times the "trick" is to insist and resist.
