After months of building in private, I finally launched my open-source telemetry platform
A few months ago, I started building what eventually became Telemetry Tracker.
It wasn’t meant to become a business. I simply wanted a telemetry tool that I actually enjoyed using in my own projects.
Most solutions I tried were either too expensive, too complex for side projects, or difficult to self-host. I wanted something lightweight, developer-friendly, and completely open source.
So I started building my own.
Over time, it grew into a full platform with:
Error tracking
Event tracking
Session monitoring
Product analytics
Official SDKs for React, Next.js, Vue, Nuxt, React Native, Node.js, and NestJS
Self-hosted and cloud deployment
The biggest surprise wasn’t writing the code.
It was everything around it: documentation, website, authentication, GitHub, screenshots, deployment, pricing, and trying to explain the project in a single sentence.
Building the product turned out to be only half the work.
There’s still a long roadmap ahead—performance monitoring, alerts, source maps, session replay, and much more—but I decided to stop waiting for “perfect” and share it with the community.
