Everywhere I've been I've seen the same problems with webhooks.
It starts out simple enough — fire off an HTTP POST when something happens, or receive one from Stripe or GitHub. But then reality sets in. The endpoint is down. The delivery silently fails. You have no retry logic. You have no logs. You have no idea what happened or how to recover. Data is just gone. I've felt this pain, and I've seen customers deal with it over and over across different projects.
So I built Hookbridge — a webhook delivery service that just works. Set it up, point your webhooks at it, and stop thinking about it.
It handles both directions:
- Outbound — sending events to your customers' endpoints with automatic retries, signatures, and delivery logging
- Inbound — receiving webhooks from third-party services with verification, buffering, and reliable forwarding to your app
The whole point is that you shouldn't have to build and maintain webhook infrastructure. You should be building your actual product. Hookbridge takes care of the retries (exponential backoff with jitter), the dead-letter queue, HMAC-SHA256 signatures on every delivery, rate limiting, replay support, and full observability through logs and a metrics API.
Pricing is monthly or yearly and designed for solo devs and small teams: there's a free tier at 1K messages/month, and paid plans start at $110/year. No credit card required to get started on the free tier. Static IP on every plan, including free.
It's live now at https://www.hookbridge.io and I'm looking for feedback from developers who deal with webhooks.
I'd love to hear from you:
1. How are you handling webhooks today? Rolling your own, using a service, or just crossing your fingers?
2. What's the most painful part of your current webhook setup?
3. What would make you switch to a managed service — or what's holding you back from using one?
Happy to answer anything about how it works, the pricing, or what's coming next. I'm building this for developers like me who just want webhooks to work without babysitting them.
