AI made me faster at my job. It didn't make my brain any more resilient.

I coach tech professionals on productivity, health, and fitness. Lately every session turns into a conversation about AI, one way or another.

It's not really about the tools anymore, most people have those figured out. It's the pace it's setting. Tighter timelines, more context switches a day, less room to think something through before the next thing hits.

Some of that's layoffs, doing your job plus whoever left's. Some of it's just that everyone's shipping faster now, so the bar moved for everyone else too. Either way, the job got faster. Nobody's brain got any more resilient to keep up with it.

So I started digging into what actually supports that specifically, brain energy, and creatine kept showing up. Everyone writes it off as gym powder before checking what the newer research says about brain energy metabolism.

The mechanism is simple. Your brain runs on the same ATP system your muscles do, and it's expensive to run, 2% of your body weight, about a fifth of your resting energy budget. A handful of studies show how creatine buffers that system, and the effect shows up clearest exactly when someone's sleep deprived or under sustained cognitive load.

Which is most people right now, one way or another.

I take 5g a day now. I put together a guide on it if you want the full breakdown:

Is anyone else building or working through this stretch and feeling the same gap? Faster and bigger output, with the same person running it. And what are you actually doing about it?
