Good article! I'm not sure what the future will be (does anybody knows?), but you're right: we always thrive to make our work easier by automating it. If I had to guess, I think developers won't be replaced before a long, long time.

AI writing code will make certain Software Engineers more valuable, but it will absolutely decimate the low level ranks and make it harder to break into the industry. There won't be any "easy" problems to cut your teeth on.
You're sorta seeing this with the rise of frameworks anyways, but AI will accelerate it.
