All aboard the fail boat!, v1.0.0 is on the wild!
There is a long road behind this post, I've finally managed to check all the pending tasks and, from here, it depends on Apple Review team. My little "Today" app has been sent to the Mac Apple Store already ☺️
So why, ironically enough, does it takes 3 years to release a productivity app?
The main reason is it hasn't been my main "homework" until now, I've been employed all this time and all the efforts in this app came from my spare time, from time to time. Last month I've announced my boss that I was about to leave the company. This pandemic has been a weird trigger to me, and I think now is the perfect time to start "cooking my own food".
This app is the very first (well, second) commercial project I launch on my own and, as many of you know, isn't easy to complete something enough to send it to the App Store. Heck, even when you finish (if any app can be considered complete), the other 99% is daunting... like preparing the website, or figuring about how to write the Terms and Conditions. Now that "Today" has been deployed, other apps and SaaS will come.
Anyway, what's this app about?. The idea is pretty simple, yet useful. You just have a list of projects and three columns on each of them, that reflect your level of compromise on completing the tasks inside them:
- Never: It means you probably won't be working on these tasks any time soon. Think of it as a backlog.
- Tomorrow: Isn't just you compromise to complete them by tomorrow, but they will actually be moved automatically to "Today" column at the end of the day, so you can directly jump into your day and start with things to do.
- Today: Ah, the most important column!. You will only be able to check tasks as completed if they're on this one.
Nothing more, nothing less, there are a LOT of very little details that I will let you explore, but that is it in a nutshell. It works for me. I also combine this app with the Pomodoro technique, so my tasks can be done in 25m or less... but that's up to you.

Nice idea, I really love it, but with that many TODO apps, did you validate that people would pay for it?
Also, I think integrations are a must for such an app. Whenever I sign up for an event or invited to a Zoom call, there's a link to add it to say Google Calendar, from which I know that it will show up in my ToDoist. I wish I could have the same for tasks assigned to me at my job.

I didn't validate it, I've been thinking about your question and I honestly think that what I wanted to actually validate is I'm able to ship it.
Now that it's on the App Store (they've just accepted and published it! 🎉🥳), I will be more than happy to review the suggestions I receive, and continue shaping the app.
I will have to think about the integrations, and also syncing between devices, as the app doesn't requires any kind of sign up. I will either have to allow the users to register or use some kind of anonymous tokens, but I will probably go for allowing to sign up.

Congrats on the approval! The sync and integrations feature might be your paid tier I guess.
So, freemium as it is at the moment, and then paid tier for sync, integrations and maybe some kind of team collaboration. Sounds goods 😊
