Alternative to FileMaker?

Hi.

This question has certainly been asked many times in various forums over the past years, but I hope for new and refreshing answers here.

My business model is based on a lightweight CRM, a desktop app for Mac and Windows that i created with FileMaker Pro Advanced. Meanwhile FileMaker/Claris has discontinued the creation of the so-called "runtimes" - apps/binaries that the user can run independently without FileMaker.
This means that clients would have to spend several hundred dollars in addition to my tiny retail price of 79,– without any added value for them.

To make a long story short: Is there any recommendable middle way between the extremes no-code and C? I'm only a designer :-)
Web-based would be a nice addon, but mostly it is about a desktop app for Mac, Windows (and optionally Linux, too).
