AMA: Joined the startup at $20K MRR as the 3d employee, left at $10 M ARR (fully bootstrapped)

2.5 years ago I joined SaaS - lemlist, which helps salespeople with cold email & LinkedIn outreach.

I joined the team as a 3d employee when it generated $20K MRR (without funding).

Was one of the first marketers in the team and was working on content & community.

And 1 month ago left the company, when it reached $10M ARR ($833k MRR) fully bootstrapped 🚀

Ask me anything ❤️

I know this is an odd question, but why did you leave? What is your next venture?

Also, what was the marketing idea that had the best ROI for you?

    Thanks

      Thanks!

      1. was searching for a new challenge.
      • I took 1 month to "refresh my batteries"
      • after that started talking to cool companies and teams

and found Polychrome capital (here is why I joined it) https://www.linkedin.com/posts/ilya-azovtsev_new-year-new-challenge-after-25-awesome-activity-6876497794371244032-R8Kr

      1. when it comes to ROI - we tested ads and paid acquisition, but it didn't work well for us.

      The best is:

community building (closed FB group in our case) + content
