Amazed by how people blindly trust huge numbers on the internet.
Solo founders who claim to have $1m ARR or more, without ever sharing any revenue proof - how do you trust them and start following their tweets?
I've always contemplated about how it's easy to fool people on the internet.
"You can fool those who wants to be fooled"
It's not about trust, they are selling a story line we desire.
You can put ex-google in your bio, no one will question if it's true or not, if you are a team lead or a security guy (not belittling), if you really left the job or kicked out. But you left our dream company to follow another dream of ours. :)
Debunking is not going to work. You'll become the outlier and it will be forgotten within days. So everyone play along. It also fits with the "surround yourself with successful people". Also why follow a regular, boring guy while there are people playing with millions but still needs another follower.
I just realized it's also a good place to go out fishing.
