Amazon affiliation as side income

It is definitely real but like everything else in life that has a high reward, it takes time and dedication. I still have a few websites that generate a passive income for me.

It's all about finding keywords which you can rank for on Google. Once you rank for the keyword you optimize your page so the conversion percentage increases.

It's a very good skill to have and it can definitely help you in the future when you want to launch products.

No bs guru training

I know this post is a bit old, but as of yesterday, Amazon Affiliates make far, far less than they used to.

The payouts for some categories were cut by 80%! This is a really, really big deal for all Amazon Associates. And it shows why diversifying your revenue streams is absolutely critical.

I have a few content sites that derive revenue from Amazon, and my revenue is about to go down, big time. Luckily there are still many other affiliate based programs, and ways to efficiently monetize your company.

But still...man, what a blow.

From my understanding, having an amazon affiliate site is the same has having a 'main product.' It will take time and work to get it up going. A bunch of people showcase how they make a passive income with amazon affiliates but it still does take work. I wouldn't expect to be able to just set up a site and start making money (although I wish that was how it worked...)

So depending if you're looking to make just a few bucks on the side it can work. In any case the traffic / SEO positions usually are the key.

A good percentageof the income of my company is affiliate revenue, and about 1/2 of that is amazon. So, it's definitely something you can make a good living out of. Our revenue comes mainly from equipment reviews and recommendations. We write a lot about the mixers, mics, recorders, etc, and we give setup guides for a lot of different contexts. If you can find a tight little niche to start with, that's well suited to medium cost consumer items (eg. 50 to 100 usd) it just takes time, effort (lots of articles, to see which ones start to catch attention) and a fair bit of Sep work. Definitely possible!

Most affiliates are quiet because they have nothing to gain from sharing their income.

I have been working on a project that would use Amazon's Affiliate API but I have been denied access 6 times in a row. On the other hand, eBay gives direct access upon sign-up and Walmart seems to have a quicker approval process. Any advice anyone can give me to get approved? I got the following response on my most recent denial:

I read through the site and didn't see anywhere my project violates the agreement and of course talking to reps is of no help because they say only specialists handle that approval process.
