I don't have any sample code for you or case studies but one thing you might want to know before you start using Mechanical Turk is that the 'turkers' have a site where they rate requesters. Your amazon username ends up in here if they rate you in this system...so you might not want to use anything you want to keep private as part of your amazon id --- like your actual name.

They have browser scripts that pull in these requester ratings as they are working.
I've used it, and the first bit of advice would be to setup a "verification" step – either a test by which you can verify validity or a second Turk who tests the results of the first Turk. There's a lot of people who will put the same dummy data in your form and hope it gets approved.
Unfortunately, manually disapproving 60,000 spam entries is tiresome.
I believe there is an API but Google knows more than I. :)
